Hi!
My power unit burned out on 3D printer Mbot Cube Dual Extruder
Power Supply KDW150W-H-D
Parameters:
INPUT: AC 110-220V
OUTPUT: DC 24V 6A, 5V 2A
150W
I have a power supply
S-600-24
Parameters:
INPUT: AC 180-260V
OUTPUT: DC 24V 25A
600W
Motherboard MightyBoard Mbot Cube 2013
The board will burn when connecting a powerful 600W power supply?
No problem.
The important part is that the supply is the same voltage (24V) so that should be connected to the 24V rail. you will need an additional power supply to cover the 5V/2A needs. I would guess that this is for the logic circuits on the board, and probably not needed if you connect the USB.
Having more current available for a power supply won’t hurt. A battery can (usually) supply a lot more current than you would need, but it will only need to supply what the load will draw. In this case, the 3D printer should never need more than 6A (The old power supply) worth of power at 24V, so the ability of the new supply to give 25A will simply mean that it should never ever get over loaded.
